August 24, 2009, 11:56pm (report abuse)Why is the government in the business of establishing minimum "anything" regarding salaries. It makes the politicians feel good but it actually does nothing for the employee or the employer..The employees value is not and cannot be determined by legislative edict. Another case of government wading into situation where the law of unintended consequences prevails. There is too little space to delineate the domino effect that a minimum wage causes. Is the establishment of a minimum wage Constitutional? I think not! Government, in this case is dictating to the marketplace the terms of it's functioning by prescription which is the antithesis of how the marketplace is supposed to work and respond to demand. The result is an artificial status that is at odds to reality in the marketplace.

October 9, 2009, 3:42pm (report abuse)This means that some businesses could pay $3.00 an hour and offer a "cadillac" health plan to make up the balance. Healthcare is great but people also need to eat and pay bills. Health plans should not be included in minumum wages.

October 12, 2009, 5:45pm (report abuse)Tom Price said he wants to make sure people get to keep more of their hard earned money and he supports an Federal edict to allow some employers to reduce an employee's wage?
Is this insane or am I missing something here? No wonder this bill never made it to the floor.
