I don't know about anyone else but I would prefer that my name not be listed in another publicly available database. Too many people already have too much information as it is.

no thanks

In this age of identity theft, the last thing that we need is to have more personal data easily accessible to the public. Legitimate heroes already have the documentation to prove their citations. Potential employers can easily confirm a veteran's claims by having the veteran sign a release form and requesting verification through the national records centers. A publicly available database is only going to provide another avenue for unscrupulous individuals to gain more information about potential identity theft targets. The current system is not broken and preserves and protects the privacy of those who have protected our country. National, public database? No thanks.
