I think the bill should be passed, due to the fact that for people on Social Security will not get a Standard of Living increase due to the economy.

Congress is willing to spend this country into bankruptcy at the same time it's getting automatic pay raises? It's time to set term limits and pay raises to the minimum.

Congress is so out of touch with COLA, especially if you are a senior. They ought to try & see if they can survive on $25,000/yr & see how many coupons they would collect. They are too busy spending billions/trillions on war, defense, pork, self interests, they forget the value of a dollar. Not only do they NOT deserve a pay increase, they should get a pay reduction of 20%/yr our gov has a deficit. There is no middle class anymore, they saw to that! If they want to reduce SS & Medicare, they should reduce their salaries proportionatlely. What is good enough for the goose is good enough for the gander. Thanks to their mismangement from 2000-2008 we are a 3rd World country. Just the RICH & the POOR. Thanks to them & their sanctioned outsourcing of jobs, our people cannot find work. Thanks to them & their willingness to sponser Wall Street, Big Banks, there are no Small Businesses. Oil Companies, Railroads, Airlines are not small businesses yet many are recorded as such. What hypocracy!

I am currently on Social Security Disability. I and my Partner did not receive a cost of living increase in 2010. These small amounts don't go much further than buying 4 extra cans of soup a month. I can get by without one in 2011 because I am already used to the budget I must live on. With your perks, etc., and pensions, I do not feel you are entitled to a greater degree than the Working and Non Working Citizens of this Country. I strongly oppose any pay increase for Congress.

I think its about time the government

should wake up and smell the roses the only ones that are really getting screwed by them are the seniors who have pair into social security all the time they were working. and when they arent working anymore they get screwed again so when it comes to thepoliticions getting any type of pay raise it should go to a vote by the people not the idiots who are denying a cost of living increase for the retired in this country. well sooner or later they will all be out of jobs as the middle class and the retired may be able to vote themout of office

The government is supposed to be for the people, OF THE PEOPLE, They should be held to the same rules as seniors on SS. No COLA. Put them into the social security program and watchit get fixed. Health care should be the same for all americans. Put congress in the health care system. I worked 30 years for a pension and company went bankrupt. I get zippo now. Congress guaranteed full pension after one term. We are the people and it's time Congressional members were treated like their fellow Americans.
