"The flu shot does not work for babies. In a review of 51 studies involving more than 294,000 children, it was found there was "no evidence that injecting children 6 to 24 months of age with a flu shot was any more effective than a placebo. In children over the age of 2 years, it was effective only 33% of the time in preventing the flu. The flu shot does not work in children with asthma. In a study of 800 children with asthma in which one half were vaccinated and the other half were not, the two groups were compared with respect to clinic visits, emergency department visits, and hospitalizations for asthma. The researchers concluded that no evidence was provided that the influenza vaccine prevented pediatric asthma exacerbations (Christly, C. et al, "Effectiveness of influenza vaccine for the prevention of asthma exacerbations." Arch Dis Child, August, 2004, 734-5)http://www.naturalnews.com/026526_health_influenza_vaccines.html Please review this info on this site. Thank You.

Schools are NOT the place for medical procedures to take place. Vaccine danger issue aside, schools have NO business taking part in ANY medical procedures, with or without parental consent.

If schools are a place of learning, we should be clear with the students about the science of vaccines: what's in them, and what those ingredients cause. We should have them study the epidemiology, the clinical trials, and the field studies, thousands showing that vaccines do not improve outcomes. They could then see how the financial needs of stock holders override the need for child safety, to the extent that intense pharmaceutical industry lobbying has the wool pulled over politicians eyes.
Children could learn a lot from that.

Schools are for learning not for medical care. I encourage my elected officials to vote no on H.R. 2596.

I agree that school is not the place for immunizations, I have the right to decide whether my children are immunized and the right to be present with them at our family doctor's office not their school.

Forced immunizations are a violation of human rights. This is something parents should decide along with the medical advisors they trust. Look at the number of kids damaged by vaccines. Then look at the ingredients. Then look at the haste they are in while creating these new ones. Not ok. No. No. No.....

What is happening to our freedoms as parents? When are people going to realize that vaccines are drugs and people should have a choice to put or not to put a drug into their body? Just like any OTC, cigarette, alcohol ... etc.

It is appaling to think we would be doing this in America, we aren't cattle. Everyone should have the choice of their own medical care and their children's.

Forced immunizations for something that is less dangerous than the regular flu? Are you kidding me? People only die from the flu when their immune system is compromised. My son has heavy metal poisoning and you want to add more to this? Vaccines are poison. What if there is a reaction at SCHOOL, what are they or the government going to do. There is no longer any legal recourse to the vaccine makers if something goes wrong. They can put anything in that they wish and change the studies to make it say what they want. Let PARENTS decide what they think is right. My kids will NOT get vaccinated.

Please vote "NO" on vaccinating at school. Vaccines come as a "one size fits all" My son has reacted badly to vaccines in the past (yes I do believe in vaccines, but not for routine administration to everyone) I need to be able to sit face-to-face with his doctor to discuss the risk/benefit to my son at this particular time in his development, which to give now, which to delay. And even his doctor said he did not need the HepA vaccine--vaccinating kids (who get a minor short term illness with no lasting effects)to protect older adults did not make sense for my child at this time and his known reactions to vaccines.

Schools are for learning and they better not vaccinate my kids. My boys have been damaged by all the vaccinations since birth and I am not about to have them put anymore of that craps into their systems!!!

VOTE NO, FOR THE SWINE FLU VACCINE MANDATE FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN. This is the USA; we have a right to freedom of choice and an obligation to protect our children from further vaccine injury.

I am opposed to any forced vaccination program. Where did this idea come from anyway?? I will take my kids out of school before I will let them be vacinnated.

Schools are not the place to vaccinate children and seems to be another way to slowly erode parental rights. This bill should be voted no against. It is wrong on many levels.

A recent study found that children who receive the flu vaccine are 3 times MORE LIKELY to be hospitalized with flu symptoms than those who do not. 7 new studies have been approved and are beginning that look into vaccine safety, inculding mercury. These studies are being done by CDC, NIH, NIMH, etc- the question of vaccine safety has NOT been answered as Paul "For Profit" Offit would have us believe. I agree with the commentor who said schools should use this as an opportunity to teach basic principles of science and inquiry to understand this issue better.

Vaccines do far more harm than good. The US is ranked 34th in infant mortality in the world, behind 3rd world countries. We are one of the most heavily vaccinated countries and have the sickest children. Vaccines are a billion dollar industry for Big Pharma. The rates of increased autism and increased vaccination rise on a parallel. Do the math.

Please vote "NO" on vaccinating at school. My twins have reacted badly to vaccines and it took 2 years to get health back . My older children are fully vaccinated. Parents need to decide what is right for their child. After all they are ones that are responsible for them on a daily basis.

There should be a freedom of parental choice due to each individual need of a child. NO two children have the same medical needs! It's unfair to generalize and put a child in medical danger!

this has been going on for years. My parents were vaccinated during the 50's during school. I was vacciated during the 5th grade. I understand young children may have it instilled in them to fear pain, but those parents can take their little tikes to the Dr.s office. For the rest save your cash and have a certified nurse deliver the vacciation and be done with it.

I have mitochondrial disfunction so do my sons whom I have almost recovered from autism. We are just like Hannah Poling who also had mitro disease and developed autism after getting her vaccines. I think my kids would not have autism if at least I was better informed about the vaccines and I knew about Hannah Poling. Mito disease is common in autistic kids and should be checked before getting vaccines.

i am opposed to this idea for numerous reasons, the first being parental choice. i am encouraging everyone to vote know on this idea, and letting parents make the decisions for their child(ren) on their own w/o being forced.

I have never had a flu vaccine in all 33 years of life and never had the flu. It doesn't make sense to me at all. Phooey on making the schools do vaccinations, that is not what they are there for. It is not the job of schools to administer any medication unless with parental consent. Hell it takes forms in triplicate for a child to get a Tylenol for God's sake. What is the world coming to, now its vaccinations that government wants to force schools to do. School's only function should be teaching the three Rs and science, history, English and preparation for college. That is it. The flu vaccine does not work, and leads to greater health problems. Vote no if you value the lives of children. Ask yourselves those in government would you knowingly allow your children to be injected with pure poison? I think I know the answer to that one would be a resounding no. That is my answer too.

My son had 2 flu shots when he was 1 and he had serious flu in a month. He later changed from a lovely baby to an autistic kid after his 15 months shots. Flu vaccine did not help him with the flu at least. Increasing amount of vaccine pulled him down finally.

I really don't believe the well-being of our children is something for the government to stick it's nose in... We as parents are the ones responsible for the choices we make for our children, and it's not fair (or right) for the gov't to be able to force these things, or make these decisions for us! This makes me VERY angry! Parent's need to be more responsible for themselves and their families, not less, in order to be able to teach the same responsibility to their children, not dependancy on the gov't to do everything for us! And amen, Jennifer!

When I trusted the doctors to be helping my first daughter and to have her taken from me and replaced with a child with Rett's Syndrome and all that goes with it--yeah, so she doesn't get "sick" and the risks far outweigh... No, no, no! How many of those doctors lost their children that way? Now the government is trying to force more and more of these damaging vaccines on more children--and at school! I'm so glad I'm homeschooling and glad that so far there is an exemption from the vaccines in every state. What's with these people? If those that CHOOSE to vaccinate their children are truly IMMUNIZING them, then why can't they leave those of us alone who choose NOT to?????

I just feel that if I want my child to have the vaccine that I will take him to the doctor to give him the vaccine. You know they say they dont have the funding to provide my child with the proper occupational therapy and one on one time he needs with his educational needs but hey we can start providing vaccines for the entire student body. Explain this to me. No on second thought dont bother because you cant. I dont want to homeschool either but it is at the poiont where soon I will have no choice because I can do better than his school system does for him. The sad thing is the one thing he loves about school is he finally has friends and he would miss them terribly. Shame on you school boards, school principals, superindents for forgetting why you are in the positions yhat you are. You are there for the children and you were put there by the taxpayers. Remember that.

Please vote no. Each and every vaccine is a decision that each parent should be making with their child's doctor as each child's circumstances are different. What works well for one may not for another and should only be decided based on that information. Some children may need a vaccine that another does not. This is not something families should feel rushed to do. Nor should it be placed on the head of the school to enforce such rules.
