(logged in user) August 25, 2009, 7:01pm (report abuse)There is no justification for a monthly adjustment. This bill should be based on an annual change, not a monthly one. It should also be protected from decreases in payments to seniors.

The only change being put forth is to create another CPI to be used for annual social security COLA. You already protected against reduction in monthly benefit. The only time you would ever get less is if the rise in Medicare is more than the annual increase. And that is nor possible under the law unless you are a high income individual. Which you may be, but for most of us that is not a consideration.
