October 3, 2009, 12:34am (report abuse)This bill should be defeated on the basis that it isn't even supported by Utahs own Legislators. This typical land grab will lock out users that have had access to these areas for many years.End the "feel good" stupidity, let your politicians know how you feel.

October 5, 2009, 5:51pm (report abuse)This rediculous bill will kill the economies of rural utah, hurt thr schools by denying funds and stop americans from seeing and using wisely resources. Lets see the sopnsoring senators give up an equal percentage of thier states to be takes from their constituents and turned into wilderness.

October 19, 2009, 9:01pm (report abuse)This bill would close access to motorized or mechanized vehicles in the Utah desert (this includes mountain bikes). I believe it would change access so that if you cannot hike it, you cannot go there. My family as well as lots of friends in Oklahoma and all over this great country who are avid off road enthusiast (jeeps, bicycles, ATVs etc.)would be shut out from using and exploring this vast Utah desert area. We as well as thousands of off road people/families look forward to vacationing in the beautiful deserts of Utah. There exist thousands of miles of back country roads and trails that are used by off-road people and tourist that visit Utah. These vacationers are vital to the well being of the small towns in this area of Utah because of the tourist dollars that are spent for food, housing, rentals the list can be very long. We also need to keep people working, this legislation would cost jobs, many many thousands of jobs.
