January 23, 2009, 11:00am (report abuse)The passage of this bill would be an important step foward for the United States on a global scale. With improved international relations with our geographic neighbor, and increased trade options in these hard economic times, there is no downside to lifting the outdated embargo on Cuba.

March 17, 2009, 2:57pm (report abuse)Has everyone forgotten about those that hold a US Certified Cuban Claim. My parents were American Citizens who invested in Cuba because Americans were encouraged to invest in Cuba in the 1950's. Please don't end the embargo without settlement of the claims. We have been waiting a long time for our ship to come in. Even if it's a sail boat, we will take it.
