I don't think an informant qualifies for working for the federal government. Hawaiians are born in the US if their parents, who are lawful citizens or resident aliens, if the baby is moved there within two years.

Obama sure is a lawyer, but when his BC is leaked it will be difficult to explain he's not misleading America.

This bill is necessary to stop the granting of birthright citizenship to the children of illegal aliens, women visiting the USA, and pregnant women who jump the US/Mexican border to give birth in the USA and get free medical care.

Let's stop the insanity now!

We should stop granting citizenship to illegals and their newborn children. This just rewards illegal behavior. We don't need these type of people in America.
We must get America back on her feet.

We need to support this legislation
to pass, specially here in California were this illegal alien
invasion has contribute to the
ifestation of Gang members, Human
Smugglers and now the new population of Drug Cartels, the
new citizens of Mexico, at age
16 and up, are criminals already

People are already complaining about this bill as 'racist'. However, this bill would put us in parity with every other civilized country in the world in regards to 'birthright citizenship'. If my child is born in Spain (or Mexico even), Spain says he is a US citizen.

So far I can only find one Democrat willing to sign on to this bill. What a shame they are being led around by the nose by La Raza, the only racist organization discussing this legislation.

This law is so bad Ill bet the Mexicans are belly laughing as they waltz accross the border, have the child (the tax payers pay for that too)and they bypass the system and start stealing money from the taxpayers.. How can someone with a human brain not see how bad this law is? Look at California! Its bankrupt because of illegal immigration. Not only that, its being taken over by Mexico while the government does nothing. Its hard to believe what is happening to this country. My father who was a B26 Maurader Pilot in WWII would turn over in his grave if he were here to witness this attrocity.

I don't support HR 1868 because it is just going to create more illegal immigration in the United States. It would work like the Grandfather Clause, preventing future generations from a privilege/right because of their inherited citizenship status. If passed, the HR 1868 will not fix the broken immigration system. It's not fair to only allow illegal immigrants in times of crisis and war, it's only fair to enforce our laws more, but deportation is not the answer to everything. Illegal immigrants are persons, of flesh and bones, of heart and dreams, and people in the U.S. need to stop saying that they steal taxpayers' money, because they don't. Americans need to get their facts straight, learn more, read more, know more, change the flow of things. Be humanitarian. Be logical. Gather ALL the facts before making racial comments against Mexicans, they are not the only illegals in this country. Gather ALL the info, don't only consider things that confirm your prejudice or ideas.

Passage of this bill needs to happen before any amnesty bill is even considered. People from many countries have been taking advantage of the fact that the government does not apply the 14th amendment properly. This bill will be a major deterrent to illegal immigration and will reduce the burden on hospitals, schools, and other social services.

Illegal immigrants in the U.S. are not comprised of only Mexicans but Mexican illegals make up about %90 of the illegal population. None of these people belong here. There is no defense for them. They crossed our borders illegally and remain here illegally and yes, they put a huge burden on our society and will continue to do so as long as they are allowed to remain here. This bill will at least help to slow the tide of illegals, "real people with hopes and dreams" who happen to be ruining our country.

We certain;y need this bill passed prior to any discussion relating to immigration reform. We also need this passed prior to any discssion of universal healthcare.
California has begun to issue IOU's because they are out of cash, and the rest of the country will be staggering under a similiar load of debt if we don't control the flood if illegals into this country. How much more can we stand? Not a lot, I'd wager.

An important incentive to getting this bill passed is 'chain-migration'. It was estimated that for each anchor-baby given citizenship, 50 or more extended family could legally move to the US. 'Extended' family includes the most distant relatives, not just blood related. I hope this bill isn't a trade-off to give amnesty to the illegals currently living here... with promises to close the border afterward. We can't trust too much anymore. Seems there's always a bargain being made behind closed doors. In supporting this bill, we should add a no-amnesty clause for any illegals here and demand deportation, close any loopholes.

Sorry StephanieDHC you might want to consider moving to Mexico and doing your "good deeds" for them there. We are in crisis here and they are the primary cause. They suck our health care, our social services, reduce wages for all Americans (and in this economy yes, we will do those jobs)bring drugs into our country and have become one of the largest growing gang population in the U.S.
Wake up and smell the coffee girl. I know they are people and should not be physically hurt but they are crimminals and should be treated as such. Send the babies back home with the mothers.

It baffles me that more hasn't been done to reduce illegal immigration(or legal, by default of chain-migration). We are watching our country run to the ground. Send them all back. They don't pay taxes, they don't deserve to be here. It's as simple as that!

I can't think of one reason not to pass this bill....I am. however, embarrassed that our leaders have in the past, and continue to, allow unchecked entry into our country resulting in millions of new "citizens" taking advantage of all entitlements....so much wrong here - it's sad for everyone.

I insist that you remove the filth from cottojr from this remarks section. I, and all other Americans I am sure, am disgusted to see it in print. The ignorance alone should qualify it for removal. Shame on you.

This bill is racist and so do these critics who want this bill passed. Pass this bill and I won't be able learn Spanish and Japanese. Hell, I won't be allowed to marry spanish girl or a japanese girl, because of this bill. Jesus says to love your enemies.
