H.R. 1708 would amend title II of the Social Security Act to phase out the 24-month waiting period for disabled individuals to become eligible for Medicare benefits, to eliminate the waiting period for individuals with life-threatening conditions.

March 31, 2009, 6:23pm (report abuse)i currently have cancer and unable to get insurance i am awaiting a reply to a high risk state insurance but there are no guarantees that they will accept me the premiums are outrageous i am currently cancelling all doctors appointments because of no coverage if not for the physician's office i would have to stop all my medications the pharmacy wants over $400 for one month supply of medications please pass this bill
