H.R. 1024, The Uniting American Families Act of 2009 (4 comments ↓)

H.R. 1024 would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to eliminate discrimination in the immigration laws by permitting permanent partners of United States citizens and lawful permanent residents to obtain lawful permanent resident status in the same manner as spouses of citizens and lawful permanent residents and to penalize immigration fraud in connection with permanent partnerships.

This bill would go a long way to restoring the rights and responsibilities to ALL Americans.

I hope everyone who read this news know that bill has been introduced for many years, and it never get a chance to pass. Many bi-national same sex couples can\'t stay together because of the unfair immigration law in US. Therefore I hope all you you can help to support this bill to pass.
