Oh yeah one more thing...common sense would tell you that if it were passed it wouldn't be enforced until the sitting president who signed it is out of office otherwise it would be a conflict of interest.

CYates i couldn't agree with you more on that...we need to get some of these old career politicians out of congress and get some new blood in congress. some of the representatives in congress have been there so long and are so old that they are completely out of touch with what's really going on in society. we need term limits for congress.

I agree with any comment on here that talks of America being the land of the free and the home of the brave. Our freedom has been bought and paid for by so many over the last years and it would be a total disgrace to what they have done if we allow ourselves to not still want that freedom and protect it. I say NO .. NO.. NO. While our country may not be perfect it is still the best in the world and it our duty as Americans to protect it and contunue saying.. IN GOD WE TRUST. Uee your voices and let us stand together as our forefathers did and stop this if it has any chance of happening.

Not only should this be stopped in its tracks, the voters should demand term limits on all Senators and Congressmen/woman. They have become the old boys and gals club milking all of us for too long.

I'm against this repeal as well. My question is, has anyone written to Senator Jose Serrano and asked him why he's doing this in his own words? If so, has he responded? He needs to respond why he submitted it. Besides, who wants to server more than 8 years or even 4 years in such a position like that? I think many would just get tired of it anyway. But again, that senator needs to be asked why he submitted it.

The government of this country has been steadily whittling away at the Constitution. They have taken our right to speak in favor of the illusion of security. They are in the process of taking our right to bear arms in our own defense. We cannot sit idly by and watch this country fall even more into shambles. Sooner or later we MUST defend this country, even if we're called to defend it from its own festering, bloated corpse.

The last thing we need is to start repealing the amendments to the constitution. My husband was a staunch supporter of Amendent 2. We don't need Obama or anyone else forever as our President. Our officials should have backbone enough to stand for the 10 commandments and the Constitution of our GREAT COUNTRY. They should consider their constituents rather than how much money they can make before they retire with a fantastic retirement and health insurance plan. May God Bless Our Country! This country is already going to hell in a hand basket. We've turned over our religions no matter what they are to separation of church and state. Now we're going to put the country in the hands of a dictatorship / monarchy. I think the democrats are going down a road the country can not follow. We thought Bush The Idiot was bad, but this guy is shaping up to be even worse, especially for working families.

We may do better to allow only one 4 year term in succession. Then maybe after a mistake like Obama, if the last guy was way better by hindsite, re-elect him. Oh, I mean him/her.
We must make politics less appealing to the lazy, greedy lawyers/powergrabbers of this world, or the corruption in this country's governments will never end.

HRJ5 is one of many pieces of the Machine that is presently at work in our nation, especially since Obama took office. With all the abuse and usurping of power by the President and the lack of action by the representatives of Congress who in fact are quiet on the subject, IT'S TIME for the American people to take action and do all they can do!

Nationalized Healthcare reform is just a scam to raise the funds to support this extreme machine of corruption our U. S. founding documents and laws. If the present Administration succeeds in bringing the American people to its knees (through bankruptcy & slavery), they will have no options nor power left to fight with against these present agregious actions against the heartland of our country!

Americans - it is time to be fully awake and do ALL we can do as citizens who love our country! To many of you, I am thankful for kindred spirits. May God help us to maintain the faith and principles of this great land!

I DO NOT WANT A DICTATOR. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE TERM LIMITS ON THE HOUSE AND SENATE. I DO NOT THINK CONGRESSMEN SHOULD HAVE A LIFE LONG OCCUPATION. I THINK THEY SHOULD GO TO WASHINGTON TO DO GOOD THINGS FOR THE PEOPLE THAT ELECT THEM AND THEN RETURN HOME TO WORK LIKE THE REST OF THE CITIZENS.

America does not need a king. We do not need a dictator. If better minds than Jose Serrano and Barack Obama would not try to be president for life, i.e., Washington, Lincoln, Nixon, Truman, Jefferson, why would we want to even conceive of such a stupid idea. Are we already on the slippery slope. No one else in the world respects our new president enough to even shake his hand and Serranco wants him a "president for life."

This might be the last time any of us can call ourselves free. This country is heading into the biggest mess it has seen since the 40's If we don't fight back, we are doomed. One World Gov. is real and they are shoving it up ours. If they want to see what will happen, look at USSR. When you make it so no one can make more money than the lower class who don't work for it, no one will work. Our gov is taking everything away, MOney and freedom. We need to fight back now.

My first post above was too long to be accepted, so I shortened it.
The other thing I had to say is that we should channel our efforts where we can be fruitful. First, we MUST get the Democrats out of control of the House, and allow them to keep control of the Senate - a balance of power. Then we have to find a way to override the Presidential decree Obama made on his first day in office sealing all his personal documents from the light of day - i.e. his birth certificate, applications for scholarships, college applications, etc. (where he admits he is not a citizen). Then the matter would elevate to the Supreme Court to decide on his legitimacy as President, hopefully before he stuffs the S.C. with his own nominees who would kill even hearing the case. It is the only chance we have to get him out of office before his term ends!

Our nation was founded as a Christian Nation and we need to understand this is why we are looked up to and admired for our freedoms. Those who make bad decisions will suffer for it! Let's keep the 22 Article Amendment.

I think we the people of this GREAT COUNTRY should not re-elect any one in Washington coming up for re-election anytime in the future. Get rid of all of them. The younger ones could'n be any worse. I am for term limts on all political jobs elected by the people.. Husane Obama's hey day is over, we the people must rule.. I am against the term bill H.J.Rs.5, also the health care bill. Anyone who would sign a 1000 page document without reading it don't need to be in charge of anything.

Not only should the president be limited to two terms but more than that all congressmen should be limited to two terms. When we look at the mess they have made, why not vote them out of office. Some are so senile they need to be out to pasture living on the Social Security checks they dole out to us.

Most of the comments till here are on the correct side. We don't need a dictator. We need to vote in and also vote OUT the people in public office form town, to state, to the top. No one is above the law and these "elected" cronies want to live off of our money and have stopped caring about the whole nation. We have rich and poor and we should all stop when elections come around thinking of one side. It is great we can vote for the center right or center left any time. I veto this unintelligent choice from the senate and house.

NO! Our current problems in govt. are the result of no term limits. We can't get our elected officials to conduct themselves as the voters think they should because of the peer pressure of too-long, in office sens. and reps., who have developed very bad attitudes from lobbyists who have an agenda that has nothing to do with good govt. and good laws. Presidents are even more prone to act on things that sound good as opposed to things that WORK!!
