I fell strongly the fairest way to elect the president and vice president is by the popular vote, and the Electoral College should be abolished.

Redistrict Denver. Obama wants president for life. Term limits are needed.

This amendment doesn't specify what would happen if not candidate received a majority of the popular vote. I imagine we'd have a national runoff election (oh, dear God). Furthermore what if the election was close, within 10,000 votes let's say? Where do we do the recount? Just to be fair we'd have to have a nation-wide recount! What about 3rd parties? Under this system they wouldn't have a prayer.

There are plenty of changes we can make to our current system without completely throwing it out the window. We don't live in a democracy and I'd like it to stay that way.

The electorial college was necessary when so many couldn't read or write for themselves. Also, it took so long for information to travel that a representative was necessary for the vote for president. This is NOT the case now, however. We live in a time of instant communication and no longer need anyone to vote for us. It's time for us to grow up and vote for ourselves. Personally, I'm insulted at the thought that we have an electorial college. I want MY vote to count. It's time we had a TRUE democracy and NOT a representative government. The popular vote is just what we DO need at this time.
