I have traveled to Cuba and this is a way overdue Bill. The embargo was created for economic reasons only and does not prevent any US CITIZEN from freely traveling there. It is not illegal to travel to Cuba, only meant to make it illegal to spend our money there. So to this, I say, go there and enjoy the wonderful people that await you. Let's please support this bill and send a message to the people of the USA that we have our right to travel anywhere we choose.

I hope so much that they lift this ban..I would really like to meet my fiance's family but I can't.

The Cuban Embargo is finally being recognized as failing to bring about much, if any, change to the people of Cuba. More than anything, the people continue to suffer because of the embargo. I believe, as do others, that HR 654 will begin to remedy the embargo by permitting greater commerce between Cuba and the U.S., as well as permitting greater travel between the two countries. All of the ills of Cuba may not be resolved at first, but it is a beginning. So many positive things could and will be the result of complete removal of the US embargo against Cuba.
