Detailed Summary

Reserve Component Residence Protection Act of 2008 - Requires that a basic allowance for housing be provided to a member of a reserve component, with or without dependents, who is called or ordered to active duty to attend accession training, in support of a contingency operation, or for a period of more than 30 days, or a retired member, with or without dependents, who is ordered to active duty under specified provisions in support of a contingency operation or for a period of more than 30 days.

Makes payment retroactive for any member of a reserve component of the Armed Forces with dependents, or retired member of the Armed Forces with dependents, who is on active duty as of the enactment of this Act.
