June 8, 2007, 3:26pm (report abuse)Dog fighting is an awful awful thing. No animal should be forced to endure the horrid things that the people who fight them do. There is no "sport" in this action, only cruelty to animals for the gain of illegal money. I hope this passes and soon. Maybe people like Vick who had over 60 dogs will think before they choose to walk that path. If you think that dog fighting is a sport and its harmless, watch the documentary "Off the Chain".

These are the same people who are against animal welfare tring to stop cruelty to animals. I do not belong to any animal welfare groups, peta ect. I have enough common sense to know animal neglect is cruel and practiced by very sick people.

I also have noted that most of the arguments opposed to HR 137 have spelling errors and ignorant, therefore implying me to believe that the majority of the people opposed to this bill are uneducated.

June 15, 2008, 12:25pm (report abuse)i believe this bill is bs.we can send our frieds and family over seas to fight for our bs freedom but we cant sent or own feathered warrior across his score line.i beleave america has its priority f@#$ up and care more about what happens to animals that are born to fight rather than innocent 18 year old kids they send off to get killed or severly injured and then leave them to defend for themselves.i take better care of my roosters than the u.s. does its troops,so people stand up and take your country back

My fowl have helped me pay bills and buy groceries for my family a number of times while this government continues to mess the econonmy up using tax payer money for stupid bills such as this one. I am a stand up family man who enjoys the sport of cocking. It doesnt mean I cant be a great father and good husband. I work everyday and provide for my family. I dont do drugs, drink, beat women, rape, molest, or steal. I just like to have my gamefowl. And if it came to it, I will fight for my rights to own them. Once again, vote no on this garbage bill. I am a cockfighter. I raise and own gamecocks for the only purpose you can own them = cockfighting. You have a choice to make support my “inalienable rights” or continue to be the cowards you have been for 6 years now and watch as I am killed when the Corrupt AG sends law enforcement officers to raid my home. Yes I have spoken with many Senators and Representatives at the Capital and at other places where I have run into them at different times. Several have told me that the corruption of the OK AG and the OK Supreme Court Judges is well known at the capital, yet not one of you has the courage to stand up and do anything about it. That is the problem with America today TOO MANY COWARDS RUNNING AND BEING ELECTED TO OFFICE!!!!!

I am tired of the Animal rights terrorist funding researchers to provide and support false accusations against good people in their effort to take away our "inalienable rights" to our pursuit of happiness which is one of three principles this country was founded upon. Research put out as gospel like the research from the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine which is funded by the HSUS.

Yeah if you take their money and support their illegal acts that is exactly what you are and I hope you feel and see the filth and cowardice every time you look in the mirror. This great country was founded as a Republic to ensure that the “inalienable rights” of the minority could never be taken away by the majority if those rights did not infringe upon another person’s “inalienable rights” and/or public safety. Cockfighting does neither.

I am a cockfighter, I served 22 years in the U.S. Army to protect and defend the constitution and the freedoms guaranteed by it. I am proud to be compared to the "Greatest Generation" because I am being compared to my grandfathers and they, like most men of their generation were good men and yes one of my grandfathers was a cockfighter. I know many cockfighters and have been going to the cockfights since I was 14 years old and the description above is the most truthful description of the majority of cockfighters that I have ever seen in print.

Their statement follows mine. I don't have the money the HSUS buys politicians with but I have something more valueable. I have the inalienable rights I was given by my founding fathers the very same individual freedoms this country was founded on the inalienable rights they fought and died to give me.
I will not consent to my freedoms being taken away from me because of a chicken. I raise gamecocks for the only reason you can raise gamecocks = cockfighting (method of harvest). Just as the rancher raises beef cattle for the only reason you can raise beef cattle = for slaughter (method of harvest).
And I enjoy cockfighting, it is my pursuit of happiness. You support taking my pursuit of happiness away from me because of a chicken. I will not consent to it.

I will not consent to it.
Since the government draws its power and authority from the consent of the people, you will need to make a choice. Support the freedoms of the cockfighters or support the animal rights fanatics using lies to make criminals of rural citizens because of a chicken.
Yes I am standing up and calling all of you out on this. You will either support taking my pursuit of happiness and taking my liberty by force or you will support my inalienable rights because when they come to take my rights and freedoms from me I will defend my inalienable rights.

I am law abiding and consider myself a good person but I have had enough of the corruption in the state of OK and the animal rights fanatics that want to take the inalienable rights of the approx 50,000 cockfighters in the state away because of a chicken.
So if this is what you want to support send them to 110 Indiahoma Rd, Indiahoma OK and enforce this law, but tell them to be prepared. I will defend my freedom and you will support my being killed for a chicken.
If you don't want to go to a rooster fight, don't go, if you don't won't to hunt, don't go. People who choose not to do these things have choices but they are trying to enforce their beliefs and morals on everyone else. I go to church, pay my taxes, take care of my family and work for a living therefore if I want to go to a rooster fight and /or fight my gamecocks then I should be allowed to.
