While using renewable energy sources is always a good idea, wind generators are not for the average "joe," since it is usually very costly initially, prone to wind damage (esp. in the Midwest), and not likely to fit in most people's back yards. Furthermore, excess energy generated by wind is generally not bought by energy companies anywhere near what the energy companies charge their customers for it.

While using renewable energy resources is always a good idea, wind generators are really not for the "average joe," since they are usually very costly initially, prone to wind damage (at least within the Mid-West), and are not likely to fit into most people's back yards. Furthermore, excess energy generated by individls' wind generators rarely, if ever, are paid for by energy companies anywhere near the same rate these companies charge their customers for the same electricity.
