No chance in the current congress. Would have been nice to see 18 months ago...

You got that Michael time to write our REPs!
Chris
Doesn't this already exist? 2nd Amm? It is sick that we need a law to confirm the law that confirmed the other law, etc. Great. See if THIS Congress goes for HR73. Maybe they will suprise us.

It's about time someone introduced a bill that protects the law abiding citizen and not the criminal.
I hope this bill passes and Hr Bill 1022 fails.

35% against! Maybe they would like to live in a less free country like australia.

When i was in the 6th grade a grown man put a gun to my face while taking my walkman(yeah you heard right)and said if i was older he would blast my punk ass;the kicker is cops were across the street in a burger place!

I vehemently support this bill, and advise anyone who appreciates his/her constitutional rights to do the same. It is foolish to think the police will arrive to protect you or your family the instant a criminal enters your home, or attacks you on the street as if they had a "S" enblazened on their chests!!! Oh and Jon, I too am very disturbed by the 35% of people who oppose this bill, I am thinking maybe they would prefer to live in Red China, or even Nazi Germany, prime examples of gun control!

Why do we need this in an act, they should be making it an amendment to the constitution.

Since when do we need a referendum to support the Constitution?
Brian
There should be a gun in every house! We should return to our roots, long live the colony!
Dean
Civil rights were a long time in being recognized. Looks like the right to self-defense needs to be recognized in a similar fashion, so that noone, including employers on private property, can infringe on this right.

This bill has been introduced many times and consistently dies in committee. Hopefully with the latest Supreme Court ruling and the various lawsuits which are sure to be coming it'll stand a chance in a couple of years. It's a shame that such a bill is even required in order to guarantee a basic right specifically spelled out in the Constitution. If this much effort is required for one of the rights specifically spelled out, then how do we ever hope to guarantee any rights not specifically spelled out but guaranteed by the combination of the 9th and 10th Amendments?
