This is a sneaky landgrab which would enlarge Oregon Caves National Monument tenfold. It is being attempted at a time when there is a vigorous contrary effort which seeks to return Oregon Caves National Monument to the Forest Service, or, alternatively, to Oregon State Parks or Josephine County. This is because of utter failure of stewardship by the NPS at O.C. Nat. Mon. It is even comical because it specifically would designate OC's River Styx a "recreational river"; River Styx is only two or three inches deep and just a few dozen feet long! Bills like this one show what is wrong with Congress. Hearings should be held on this bill, in Grants Pass, Portland and Washington D.C.
