I do not understand the nonsensical comments made by some of you. I admit I have poked fun at some of your arrogance. I have noticed that many of you have placed a heavy weight upon education. I agree that college is a wonderful tool. Some countries have incentives for higher education because let’s face it, that is ALL they have, no economy, no jobs, nothing except for schools. An over-education does not make you smarter. I work with all types of people who have no degrees on up to masters. I find absolutely no correlation between intelligence and higher education. If Billy Bob is a natural born genius and spent his college years dodging bullets in Viet Nam, I would trust him as much as the over-educated Dr. Stuffington III, maybe even more. Earlier you mentioned a preposterous 30=13. Well how about this one 2=4. My opinion is that 2 years of American college equals 4 years of most foreign colleges.
You can educate a horse magna cum laude, but you can’t make him think.

Way to go RP with a Home Run:

As an american I am appalled to see comments like this. When did americans got scared of competition.

I am for legal, lawful immigration and this bill helps immigrants that help grow our economy by bringing fresh talent. When did americans become anti-immigrants??

How are we to know how many enrico fermi, einstien, vinod khosla, steven chu, maya lin, S chanderashekar, jerry yang, sunita williams, amartya sen, sabir bhatia, kalpana chawla (lost her life in space shuttle disaster), arun netravalli, har gobind khurana (nobel prize), amar bose (yeah the BOSE accoustics guy), indra nooyi this group of higly educated, technically strong group of humanity will give USA....

Friends ,kindly don't even react to any of those above comments. They don't even deserve any answers from us.They are beyond a stage of practical life. They are in the circle of only hatred. It's of no use.

They are just creating a hatred among everyone.

I really doubt those comments.

My answer to Don't anwer

I don’t hate foreigners. If you want to come here and be my equal then go ahead and come. I have many immigrant friends and family members. But do not act like you are superior. Do not unjustifiably criticize me. Do not tell me you are more qualified than me (in my field) because you have more education. Do not tell me I am not a mechanical engineer because I do not have a BSME. Do not treat me in a condescending tone.
Do not bring your Anti-American religious beliefs to this country. Do not tell me I am a lazy stupid American. Do not call me an idiot. Do not buy the house next to me and fill it with 6 families who all sneer at me when I say hello. Do not teach your children that you are a superior race. Do not teach your children that Americans are full of hate. The list goes on and on. A great percentage of foreigners hate us. Watch TV from around the world. Americans are the hated ones, yet you want to come here. It’s a no-win vicious circle.

This is not about hatred. This is about letting too many people into America at a time we can ill afford it. Please come back later in better times.

Back to you

We never called us superior ,It's your hatred which had created this assumption.See your nature by mentioning not no live your next door.See your hatred by bringing in Religious talks in between. What do you know about us?Nothing, If you love others ,others will return to you.If you are the other side ,nothing comes to you back.
You do have immigrant friends and family members , but what kind...you are infact distinguishing between immigrants.
Ask them why your next door sneer's at you,you will get your answer immediately...that will solve your problem.By hurting and passing comments is not the solution.Every individual have their own right to choose their life...no one has to right to tell them do this and that.Keep the list to yourself and teach to your own...Love Thyself.

back to you

What ever May God really bless you!You have a lot of imaginations.Ask why they hate you.If the so called world reads your post and messages, they might conclude what they are doing is correct. You have taken your time to tell us what you feel about us.Why would they think good, when your words are rough and tough? Even I have my neighbours...I never had a complaint like sneering around...My neighbours are Americans They do understand me and my family.I have never experienced one such thing till date. Its all in our mind.Education means, this is what the others are mentioning,Educating the mind. Its just a miscommunication, cultural differences,I don't beleive that families here hate to live in this country and teach kids that. Why would they be here if thats the case? It's just the suspicion about who we are and what we are.We are also just Humans...Anyhow I don't know who you are ,My statements are not to hurt any one else sentiments. This is my last post here.God is great and supreme.

After serious reconsideration I completely reverse my previous thinking. We can’t stop immigration therefore the quality of the applicants should be kept as high as possible. A certain percentage of arrogant people come in all nationalities. Perhaps I have focused too much upon these misfits. The older I get the easier it is to ignore them. Let the good people in and keep out the criminals, the system milkers, the overly fanatical religious wack-jobs and other undesirables.

Present levels of authorized immigration are not at a detrimental level to a society which prides itself as a world class example of self motivated success stories. The more pressing issue at this time is the surging number of unauthorized immigrants which are, and will continue to cause countless problems including homeland security issues. The lightly estimated 12 million illegal aliens are but a fraction of the 500000 legal workers at the heart of this bill. We already know that the illegal aliens are criminals yet we reward them with pardons. These pardons only encourage more illegal aliens to come here. We cannot reward the unauthorized criminal immigrants yet punish the honest authorized immigrants. Let the honest immigrants in. Show the world that honesty is the only way into this country.

This is needed to stop the downward spiral of our economy. Too many inefficient workers are holding top executive positions in corporate america which lead to the financial mess we are in. Respect knowledge, if we are lazy atleast we have to appreciate people who are working hard and who are capable of starting new businesses, improve efficieny in our industries. Don't forget we are in this stage [world leader] because our grand fathers showed enough respect for smart brains. If we don't use these smart brains somebody else will capitalize on this highly valuable human assets. To retain our competitive advantage in global market we need this bill to be passed immediately. This bill will eventually lead for our economic progress and more jobs. Shutting borders doesn't mean more jobs it just means we are shooting our self on foot. Don't listen to political views , get opinions of great economists.

Some one mentioned if you are skilled then why can't you spell english?

Thank you, you just proved why we need these people. There are other needed skills to drive our economy [which don't need spelling english]

Very funny Charlie, but I'm sure you're not laughing one iota. How do you propose we handle the 20 million plus illegal aliens after we unfairly kick out the honest people who applied by the book? Please do not give me the old “2 wrongs do not make a right” speech.
