H.R. 5646 would protect the second amendment rights of individuals to carry firearms and ammunition in units of the National Park System and the National Wildlife Refuge System and to require that hunting activities be a land use in all management plans for Federal land to the extent that such use is not clearly incompatible with the purposes for which the Federal land is managed.

May 16, 2008, 10:24am (report abuse)Sec.3(f) seems to indicate this law would not apply to mgmt. plans in effect prior to its passage. Otherwise it's a Great idea, as is the 2nd Amendment & the Bill of Rights.

November 5, 2008, 6:21pm (report abuse)With so many anti-gun elected officials on Nov. 4th, 2008, we need all the help we can get to secure our 2nd Amendment Rights and preserve the right to hunt, fish, trap on public land. This is an uphill battle that we can not afford to loose.
