The government needs to get OUT of the mortgage business! They are the cause of this whole "crisis" and now they deny it. Remember years ago how they wanted, even those who couldn't afford homes, to have them? ...and pressured the banks into lending to people that they knew were not good risks? ...and now all these interest only loans are coming due and, surprise!. It doesn't take a genius. They have screwed it up so badly that they are taking over the industry!! Split up Fanny and Freddie and LET THE MARKETS WORK!!!
