H.R. 190 would amend title II of the Social Security Act and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to provide prospectively that wages earned, and self-employment income derived, by individuals who are not citizens or nationals of the United States shall not be credited for coverage under the old-age, survivors, and disability insurance program under such title, and it would provide the President with authority to enter into agreements with other nations taking into account such limitation on crediting of wages and self-employment income.

Support this bill!! The Social Security system is overburdened as it is. It makes sense that U.S. citizens should be the only beneficiaries.

Concerned Taxpayer

Yes! We should take their money and not give them any benefits. That sounds fair. And as they continue to work legally and have taxes withheld, we should think of other ways to blame them for our lack of foresight and planning.

Brain Drain

Definitely! Let's create more ways to deter skilled labor from coming to this country. I am thrilled that there is someone potentially illiterate from US colleges that will be treating my family.

I live in Florida and I don't care if your from Russia, UK, Mexico or Canada. It's bad that more money is not given to help aid federal workers track down and deport these people and we don't even crack down hard enough on our own companies for offshoring employment. We need this bill!

Legal Green Carder

Echo Concerned Taxpayer... I'm here legally, I pay my taxes and my social security. If I can't get the benefits why should I pay?

not a bigot

Jane: I live in Florida too - like that matters. "track down and deport these people" ??? Guess what - illegals don't get SS anyway. So who are you wanting to deport? Legal immigrants?

Laura

I am a nurse, from Canada, working in Florida with the blessings of the US government AND my employer, not to mention my patients - I pay taxes, SS deductions etc like everyone else - do you propose these deductions should go back to Canada so I can access the benefits I pay for, along with those millions of other legitimate foreign national workers who help to keep this country healthy ? If so, we probably will leave enmass, afterall, we came for the weather !! There is a reason there isn't a 'wall' between the USA and Canada.

Rick

We need a reform, to let any bill just float through the house and as long as no one raises a fuss about it, it becomes law is insane. Anyone that is here legally and pays there dues should get their rewards, if you are here illegally then illegal is illegal you get nothing, or are we changing the definition of the word depending on our mood
