H.R. 1363 would amend the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 to improve the nutrition and health of schoolchildren by updating the definition of "food of minimal nutritional value" to conform to current nutrition science and to protect the Federal investment in the national school lunch and breakfast programs.

October 31, 2007, 5:24pm (report abuse)Finally someone is thinking about long term health for children. Take a quiz to see how out of date the current regulations are http://www.cspinet.net/nutritionpolicy/junkfoodquiz.html

August 2, 2008, 3:16pm (report abuse). We were at the school nutrition show in Philadelphia and surprised at how some of the food made it passed the healthy nutritional standards.
An example would be Steaz Sparkling Greeen Tea, a soda that had vitamin C. It had about the same amount of sugar as a Coke.
It's amazing how the owners of these companies can sleep at night, knowing they are exposing loopholes and generating profits that only hurt the health of future generations.
