Something about your story stinks. IF, and that's a big IF, you contacted your congressman, and IF he was a veteran, as you described, then why did he not already know about this bill? IF all of the above is even remotely true then he is nnot someone who should be representing anyone. And you most likely voted for him. IF that is true you are also an idiot....

"Is there some sort of wall along the coast of Vietnam that prevents AO from reaching the ocean."

This is the same ole tired claptrap from the BWN playbook. The Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit disregarded it and neither the DVA or the IOM found any evidence that any substantial amount of herbicide from spray operations ever made its way to sea.

Fact of the matter is the reports I read stated 'drift' was limited to 1 or 2 kilometers. The half life of dioxin in air exposed to sunlight was measured as one hour.

In any event, we have extensive experience spraying crops in the U.S over the last 80 years or so and I suspect 'drift' is a known factor. I think we pretty much know what 'drift' amounts to and there hasn't been a single report that 'drift' in Vietnam was a problem.

Find the evidence or find a new whine. This one is old....

Please contact your legislators and tell them there is NO evidence that bluewater sailors were harmed by herbicides and that there is NO evidence that Agent Orange was used in Thailand or Guam in quantities that necessitate presumption. Insist they examine qualified scientific evidence. Tell them you OPPOSE this bill because the scientific evidence does not support harm to these veterans and that you want them to vote AGAINST it should it ever come to the floor.

You never served offshore, eh? It appears you haven't a clue about the structure of the Fleet or its various elements.

Google won't do you much good unless you actually know something about what you are searching for.

Task Force 77 (TF-77) has been the aircraft carrier battle/strike force of the Seventh Fleet in the United States Navy (USN) since the Seventh Fleet was formed.

During the Vietnam War Task, Task Force 77 conducted carrier strike operations from the Gulf of Tonkin and South China Sea for nine years, from 1964 to 1973. Twenty-one of the Navy's 23 operational carriers made at least one cruise with the Task Force and served over 9,100 days on the line.

The battle group included Destroyers, Cruisers and Battleships as well as Birdfarms....

"Yankee station is only 90miles from Hue"

you will of course provide a citation for that, eh?

about 190 km (120 mi) due east of Dong Hoi, at 17° 30' N and 108° 30' E
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yankee_Station

about 160 km (100 mi) from the coast, at 16° N latitude and 110° E longitude
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Yankee_Station

In the end, it still doesn't matter where Yankee Station was as the discussion between myself and airdale was about digestive system cancers even though this forum is about the BWN Bill and there is no evidence of any kind that digestive system cancers are associated with exposure to herbicide.

These cancers are more likely the result of old age, genetics, lifestyle choices and exposure to toxins right here in the USA....
