<description>If it is legal for me to be drug tested to get a job and pay taxes that support welfare, then anyone reciveing my contribution should be subjected to the same standard. Unless they have something to hide, in which they should be supporting their own habits. I am the only one responsible for my habits....</description>

<description>first of all alcohol is legal. that does not make it any better. from the reasearch i have been doing the money for testing and treatment would come for funds that TANF recieves already. i think it is a good idea one of the major barriers to work for people on assistance is substance abuse and if they can't better themselves with help, then they shouldn't have the right to recieve those benifits any longer....</description>

&lt;p&gt;Drug Free Families Act of 2008 - Amends part A (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)) of title IV of the Social Security Act to require state TANF programs to implement a program to test TANF applicants and recipients for illegal drug use.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Requires state TANF programs to deny assistance to individuals who test positive for illegal drugs and individuals convicted of drug-related crimes.&lt;/p&gt;

<description>The screening is for illegal drugs, what about alcohol abuse? Alcohol kills more people than every illegal drug combined.

Taxpayers will have to pay the tab for mandatory rehab....</description>
