Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail Act of 2008 - Amends the National Trails System Act to designate the trail extending from the Continental Divide in Glacier National Park, Montana, to the Pacific Ocean coast in Olympic National Park, Washington, as the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail.

My friend Pete Langstaff and I completed the PNWT end-to-end in 1979. We have supported national designation of the trail for almost 30 years. This is a superb trail providing incredible experiences for those who hike it....

The PNT is a Spectacular trail! Rugged mountains, beautiful views, huge glaciers, lots of wildlife, lakes for fishing, old growth forests, splendid wildflowers, raging rivers, and peace and quiet. My husband and I go hiking every weekend, and frequently it is on the PNT trail. Please vote yes for NST status! Question - I have read all the comments for the House and Senate bills. I have not seen any negative comments. Why are people voting NO for this bill? Maybe it is just a "typo"?...

Please support SB 2943. The Pacific Northwest Trail system should become a national treasure by designating it " National Scenic Trail". In fact, our trails in the PNT are so beautiful that they should be valued as a global as well as national treasure....

Please support Senate Bill S 2943 making the Pacific Northwest Trail a part of the National Trail System. The Pacific Northwest Trail goes through some of the most beautiful parts of our country. Awesome scenery!...

As an active volunteer on the Pacific Northwest Trail I support its designation as part of the National Scenic Trails Act. Such action would protect it for current and future generations of users....

For some time now, the Pacific Northwest Trail has provided a wonderful opportunity for local youth to experience the wilderness, and gain understanding and appreciation for our fragile environmental resources. Countless volunteer hours have gone into preserving this trail for all to enjoy. Please pass this bill. There are many supporters of this bill. Please give serious consideration to the passing of Senate Bill 2946, which would assign National Scenic Trails Status to the Pacific Northwest Trail. This designation will guarantee additional protection to this long-distance trail, which so many people have dedicated their time, talents and money toward establishing. Thank You....

Thanks to Washington Senators Cantwell and Murray for introducing S. 2943, a common-sense bill that deserves widespread bipartisan support. The Pacific Northwest Trail will make a fine addition to the other impressive trails already designated as National Scenic Trails....

The Pacific Northwest Trail like other Trails already designated is one of this countries treasures. As such this trail should be designated as a National Scenic Trail and join the ranks in the National Trail System. Thousands of hours of volunteer labor has been done on this trail by students and adult volunteers. Show them that this labor has been meaningful and please designate the PNT....
