I vote to continue to allow horses access to public. For anyone to think otherwise is to violate our vision of "Life, Liberty and the Persuit of Happiness, in One Nation under God. If everyone, especially our politicians kept this in mind we would not need all these laws to protect our rights as Americans....

Yes, keep public lands public. I cannot hike anymore but I can sit my gaited horse and enjoy all of nature. The quietness of a ride on a horse gives one a greater appreciation of the surrounding. Our elected officials need to work FOR us and not AGAINST us. Please stop taking away our freedoms....

Vote Yes! I have spent 48+ years riding in the back country of many states, mainly in the Chattahoochee Nat. Forest in the No.GA mtns. We need to preserve our right to ride and enjoy our forests. There's never been irrepairable damage done by dispersed riding and this is a right and privelige we need to protect and continue for our children and theirs....

The novel Brave New World by Aldous Huxley was published as a warning. It tells the tale of London in the year 2540, in a dystopian future in which the government controlled every aspect of the citizens’ lives, down to not allowing any dissenting, or in other words free, thought. This was Huxley’s vision of what will happen to societies if the government was allowed enough leeway to impose their iron fist into the everyday lives down to thoughts, words, and free choice of the citizens. This novel was controversial, and still is, but what is worse still is that his and also George Orwell’s cautionary tales of restriction of governmental regulation are beginning to come true, even here in the land of the free, the USA. For instance, the California government has allowed zoning of Los Angeles to include where fast food restaurants cannot have a store open. Burger joints are becoming outlawed, and one of the next targets is the payday loan industry, which has already come under fire....

1.I'm disabled, this is the only way I can enjoy the trails; this is discrimination under the ADA act.
2. Horsemen built these trails. They were here first.
3.All generations should be able to enjoy this great country, America.
4. Remember, this is the LAND OF THE FREE, don't discriminate against horsemen. Trails for all users!
5. Horsemen will work with other user classes to help keep these trails open by keeping them clear.
4.Senators and Congressmen/Women, PLEASE pass this bill.
THANK YOU....

I have been riding since I was 5. I am now 54. Most of my years of riding have been on public lands. I am a member of Back Country Horsemen, voluneers with the U.S. Forest service and Dept. of Game and Inland Fisheries. At an alarming rate, out of control developers are destroying our hunting and recreational lands. Please do not take away our freedom to enjoy public lands where we can exsperience the beauty of this wonderful countries back country. Horses and Mules are part of our heritage. Our history, our public lands, our horses and mules, and our RIGHT TO RIDE, are very important to us and I will do what ever it takes to preserve all five....

I support S 2283. The use of horses and stock on public lands should continue to be allowed. Most trail systems have been put into place with the help of horses and stock animals. I look forward to my trips into these locations and would like to be able to share the experience with my grandchildren....

I live in the middle of the cotton fields in Tennessee. The farmers allow us to ride our horses on their land. The government is purchasing the land in an effort to save rivers from the erosion caused by row crops. Now the government will not allow the horses on the land. Senators Corker and Alexander are deaf to the requests to support the bill and move it out of committee....

This country was founded on the back of a horse. To deny them access to ride on lands that would not have been claimed without the help of a horse is just selfish. Not all of us have 100 acres to ride on, we should be entitled to the same rights as others. If you can hike, ride a bike, where there is a trail a horse should be allowed. It a form of recreation, just the same, a way to appreciate nature in its rawest form. Not to mention, fellow trail riders are the most concientious when it comes to picking up trash left behind where others have been. How would we manage these lands without horses, or pack in supplies to firefighters fighting rural fires? and search and rescue crews? where would these volunteers gain practice and experience if they weren't allowed to ride the lands? I hope people will recognize what a benefit for everyone it is to be able to enjoy this type of experience....

i have owned horses for 32 years and have ridden trails from the west coast all the way to the east coast.
riding is a source of stress relief for many people but that relief can not be found riding in an arena, national forests are peaceful and serene and should always be open to horseback riding after all before bicycles came along and before people decided to exercise by hiking the trails horses were there roaming wild and free, their presence never disturbed the wildlife, as i have ridden the trails i have been blessed to see much wildlife that would have run off if i had been on a bike or walking, wildlife just are not afraid of the sound of a horse.
Keep the forests open to horses forever....

My family and I are avid horsemen and we enjoy trail riding our horses throughout the year. We vote yes to keep riding on public trails and public land. It is important for the future of our children to be able to enjoy the national forest. It seems to be the only place left for peace and contentment of so many people. If it is made illegal to ride these trails then our country isn't really free and that would be a slap in the face to all of our war veterans! Please keep this our county of liberty!...

Absolutely YES! I have been riding for over 50 years, and plan to do so for another 50. Horses are what founded this nation, and the way the government has mismanaged this country for decades, we all may be returning to the horse for transporation if gas, food and everything else keeps going up. Personally I'd be all for that....
