H.R. 4108 would amend section 3328 of title 5, United States Code, relating to Selective Service registration.

Detailed Summary

Requires Office of Personnel Management (OPM) regulations governing determinations of ineligibility for appointment to a position in an executive agency because of deliberate failure to register with the selective service to provide exceptions for: (1) the appointment of an individual who was discharged or released from active duty in the armed forces under honorable conditions; and (2) the appointment or continued employment of an individual who has reached 31 years of age.

Status of the Legislation

Latest Major Action: 2/27/2008: Referred to Senate subcommittee. Status: Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs referred to Subcommittee on Oversight of Government Management, the Federal Workforce, and the District of Columbia.
