H.R. 2958 would direct the Federal Trade Commission to review the video game ratings of the Entertainment Software Ratings Board and to direct the Government Accountability Office to study the impact of video games on children and young adults.

Detailed Summary

Children Protection from Video Game Violence and Sexual Content Act - Requires the Federal Trade Commission (FCC) to study and report to Congress on the system employed by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board to assign ratings to video games, including the FCC's opinion on whether the system exposes children to excessive violence and sexual content.

Requires the Comptroller General to study and report to Congress on the impact of video games on the mental stability and growth of children and young adults.

Status of the Legislation

Latest Major Action: 7/10/2007: Referred to House committee. Status: Referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

Points in Favor

(Log in to edit the wiki and be the first to show why the bill should pass!)

Points Against

(Log in to edit the wiki and be the first to show why the bill should not pass!)
