The only LE function they have is contained within the facility, or in extreme cases when a prisoner escapes. The training that 1811 receive is much more attuned to non-prison environments. Maybe H.R.2325 will help out 007s in the future, but if you try and carry under the LEOSA of 2004, you are placing yourself at risk, especially if your agency does not support it. LEOSA was mainly enacted for non-federal police to carry across different jurisdictions/states, etc. As a true 1811 there are no such carry restrictions. The BOP can dictate who can carry under LEOSA and where.
