This is not one party problem. The problem comes for both democrats and republicans. that is the main issue here, that both sides may bicker against one another but here we are with them both sides voting together to pass laws such as these.

Which sides controls the house and senate. Both Parties have the same intentions but want to go to it in a different manner.

We the people need to stop just blaming parties and get passed pushing our parties objectives cause we don't like the other.

We need to push what is best for our country, without parties we need to make our voices heard and take control.

This country started with voices that would not be silenced, then Revolution!!!...

This is a strategic move in a war on resistance and revolution. Patriot Act allows gov to spy on political and religious orgs w/o evidence of wrongdoing also enables gov to label you a terrorist suspect w/o evidence of any terrorist activity. This bill aims to stop the people standing up for change in this country by labeling them "domestic terrorists" and taking away their rights and ability to fight back....

This is a blatant attempt to provide a justification for the government to condemn anyone with an opposing view as a "terrorist" and initiate martial rule - what has happened to this country? One has to wonder if this new-found "transparency" of government isn't just another way to foster fear in Americans - by introducing these types of bills knowing there is little/nothing we can do to stop them.....

This bill needs to get voted down, contact your senators and tell them that you want this bill dropped.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This bill could be used to limit your rights to protest, hold a political viewpoint contrary to that of the government, etc. We've already seen the violent suppression of free speech in places like Seattle, let's not give vested interest more tools to suppress our voice.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE GOVERNMENT IS GIVEN IT'S POWER BY THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED, NEVER FORGET THAT.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's make a country we can all be proud of. Call your senator and tell them VOTE NO ON HR1955....

the quickest way to stop this tyranny... close the purse strings!! We have the right in the constitution to withhold tax dollars if we are misrepresented, which clearly, we are. help start a solidarity movement, tell everyone that we refuse to finance tyranny, now, and forever!
It took me a little while, but I read through all of these posts, merely out of boredom. It seems every poster believes this is a bad bill. Alot of the posters reffered to common americans as being sheep. Yet I didn't read one comment here that expressed any actual faith in the government. The way I see it, so what if the government passes a bill? Let them play in their world, and I will play in mine. And if things ever get 'serious', there are plenty of places left in the world that haven't even been explored. What is truely scary is that most americans would die in a matter of weeks if they were forced to live in their natural environment, the wilderness....

I can't believe my eyes!!! If anyone with half a brain would read the bill, you can see that it simply establishes a Commission to study and report on what they perceive as acts of terrorism. The report is given to the president for any further action that may be taken. The commission has no prosecutorial power or authority. The "terrorists" are those who have delineated their thoughts and concerns here in this forum with but one intention...to scare the hell out of people who are slaves to the printed word. Seeing it in print doesn't make it so. Come on American sheep!! Have a mind and read for yourself....

The more I read this page, the more I wish that I could take each and every one of these gratuitous statements and reply to the author directly. They sound like they are ALREADY in the concentration camps. Have a little faith in your own intuition, I am especially disturbed by the young writers I have encountered here. It is depressing. Don't they have any self motivated thought processes? If I continue reading this drivel, I will probably have a breakdown from depression. Wake up America is the theme I hear most. Well, I too, would command Wake up America. Wake up to those who would try to tear down the very fabric upon which this great nation was founded. You want to help? Get back to values, religion (any denomination), family and all that was near and dear to the hearts of the founding fathers. For that matter, not that long ago...to MY father. Yours, too probably. Do not despair. This too shall pass....

I wrote my senator, his reply was basically, "it's been withdrawn, it's not going to the senate, don't worry about it". All the status updates say this has been referred to committees. Does this mean it's just going to be reworded and sent again to the senate? I'm also completely baffled by the distinction between 1955 & 1959....
