Explanation of request, including purpose and why it is a valuable use of taxpayer funds: The Core Arterial Road Infrastructure project addresses roadways considered to range from fair to poor condition. The contractor will rotomill the existing worn asphaltic concrete surface, repair base failures, and then overlay it with new Superpave asphaltic concrete. The contractor will also remove and replace dilapidated concrete curb and make the necessary adjustments to sidewalk, curb ramps and traffic signals at intersections to ensure compliance with current Americans with Disabilities Act regulations. Recycled products will be used when feasible. These projects will employ approximately 60 people during construction.
