February 18, 2008, 2:23pm (report abuse)This one clause alone should blow it out of the water:
(K) shall neither permit nor require verification of birth certificates until a nationwide system is designed to facilitate such verification.
This clause nullifies all state systems of birth registration and certification. In effect, it is a federal takeover - with no replacement system in place.

May 1, 2008, 3:51pm (report abuse)This law needs to be repealed. There absolutely is no security benefit and we will be far more susceptible to identity fraud. It's one more form of the Feds spying on citizenry, to boot.
We need to ask WHO precisely benefits from this law? Chipping companies, Data companies (perhaps the same that blocked thousands of voters in Florida in 2000?)and other digital info companies.
As people learn more about this law there will be more opposition.
Let's hope Vicky, above, is correct with clause K.
