S. 3206 would amend titles V, XVIII, and XIX of the Social Security Act to promote cessation of tobacco use under the Medicare program, the Medicaid program, and the maternal and child health services block grant program.

Detailed Summary

Medicare, Medicaid, and MCH Tobacco Cessation Promotion Act of 2008- Amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act to provide for Medicare coverage of: (1) counseling for cessation of tobacco use; and (2) tobacco cessation pharmacotherapy.

Provides for similar benefits under SSA titles V (Maternal and Child Health Services) and XIX (Medicaid).
