NICHOLAS DECOULOS

REGISTERED NURSES, REGARDLESS OF THEIR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND, ARE ELIGABLE TO BE REIMBURSED. sOME HAVE ASSOCIATES DEGREES AND SOME COME FROM DIPLOMA PROGRAMS. RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS NEED ONLY TO BE REGISTERED AS NURSES NEED TO BE ONLY REGISTERED. IT SEEMS DISCRIMIANTORY TO PLACE THE ADDED BURDEN ON THE RESPIRATORY THERAPIST. BOTH HAVE RIGOROUS EXAMS TO GAIN THEIR REGISTRATED STATUS, UNLESS THE BACHELORS REQUIREMENT IS REMOVED, VOTE NO ON THIS BILL.

This is a step in the right direction. The service is needed to provide better care and to improve the quality of life for many patient, esp those with complex airways and require menchanical ventiletion. Don't play politics with this issue. Vote YES.

COME ON THOSE THAT OPPOSE SIMPLY DO SO BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE THE BS REQUIREMENT. WELL GUESS WHAT SCHOOLS ARE OPEN DAILY GO GET IT AND LETS ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. YOU WILL FEEL THE IMPACT OF THIS FAILED BILLED WHEN NEW STUDENTS CONTINUE TO COME INTO THE MARKET WILLING TO MAKE LESS PER HOUR THUS TAKING AWAY YOUR POSITION TO NEGOTIATE ON HIGHER WAGES

M.Sori, RRT

This bill states that an RRT must have a bachelor's degree, PERIOD. It does not state that that bachelor's degree must be a BS [bachelor in science]. Therefore we should correctly assume that an RRT with an Associate in Science [AS] degree in respiratory therapy and a Bachelor's of Arts [BA] degree qualifies under the proposed bill. The way this bill is written any RRT qualifies with either a BS or a BA so long as the other requirements are met.
