April 6, 2008, 1:24am (report abuse)How many other federal law enforcement officers are disarmed by their own agencies' policies?
It's long past time for the BOP to trust their own employees, and negotiate for secure storage of personal firearms.

April 6, 2008, 2:18am (report abuse)This sends a clear message to the Agency that this issue will not just simply go away. The crazy thing about this matter is that the BOP allows gun lockers at the Federal Detention Center in Puerto Rico.

June 12, 2008, 10:40pm (report abuse)Write your House Rep. and Senators, in attempts to get their support of this bill. Tell your co-workers, family and friends to do the same. Nearly every officer at my institution has already done so. This bill is long over due, so do what you can.

October 26, 2008, 2:34am (report abuse)This is long overdue for the BOP. All staff please write your respective congressional representatives to support this bill! The criminal element of society is getting worse each day. Law Enforcement professionals should have the option of taking added safety measures when they feel it's needed.
