I'm currently on one of the USAR teams. I responded to Katrina, and the Trade Tower incident. These teams are comprised of the best personnel the rescue world has to offer, but the federal government has yet to fully fund the program. Our team has NO FACILITY. That's right... no building! Our cache items (60,000 pounds of it, plus vehicles) are scattered around in 7 fire stations. Many other important aspects of the USAR program are addressed in this bill. Please read it! This program needs to be taken seriously. We may be your only hope of survival after 'The Big One'!
