“Jus Soli” or “Birthright Citizenship” Change Had Been In The Immigration Bill: Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) had introduced a comprehensive immigration reform bill that included a provision that would limit citizenship to those whose mothers are United States citizens or legal permanent residents. However, Senator Reid's proposal was to amend only the Immigration and Nationality Act, not the Constitution. NOTE: Since this was in the immigration bill, it should not be difficult to enact it in the future.

This change is LONG OVERDUE!

Arizona has moved to deny birth certificates to mothers who are not legal aliens. You would think the fathers would also register if they were citizens, but in fact they don't. I wondered why and asked a hospital in my area that question. Apparently, if the father is known, and he is in the United States and working, his wages can be seized. The fathers are simply not identified.

Further questioning of the hospitals and I discovered none would go so far as my personal friend in the local hospital. Does anyone.. anyone know how angrey we are about this?

Fred

What an unbelieveable burden these aliens continue to put on our country, while the elites and politicians, in their gated communties, turn their eyes away. Hospitals, schools, jails, welfare, social security etc. are all in jeopardy as a result of this debacle.
You cannot have any immigration, legal or illegal, with a welfare state as a safety net. This was meant for our citizens as a temporary assistance. At the turn of the century (1900's) the influx of immigrants the La Raza's and their ilk speak of, either made it on their own or went back home to where ever.
This bill should be passed as fast as possible, and whoever votes against it should be voted out the same way !!!

Fact: 4 out of 5 babies born in Arizona are born to Mexican nationals on the taxpayers dime. Similar is Texas with 70 to 80 percent born to illegals. These babies contribute a SS#, WIC dollars, and social service benefits to their families, while the parents don't have to pay taxes or disclose "cash" earned. Such a deal. Let's hope our Reps. will pass this bill and discourage this practice.

A Mexican woman came from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to Laredo, Texas to have her child. The child has serious medical problems and their treatment has cost (you and me) over $1,000,000 at last count. The US asked Mexico to take responsibility for the child and its bills, but the child is a legal citizen of the USA - because his Mexican mom got a free delivery in the USA - so they refused.

We don't have universal health care for our citizens, but do for illegals. This doesn't pass my logic test - how about you?

connie

illegals PAY TAXES! get the facts straight! dont be a bunch of dushbags, talking about anchor babies and what not!

Nick

First of all, "Connie", you need to learn how to spell and how about some proper puntuation. Yes, ILLEGALS do pay tax, sales tax. You know, with the money they earn under the table TAX FREE. You aren't very bright are you?

common sense isn't common it seems, however ways to live dishonestly with the blessings of our ELECTED government officials in hopes of more votes for them is very common. it's great to hear your opinions, now please write to all in congress to change birthright citizenship, OR THEY WILL HAVE TO LEAVE THEIR GOVERNMENT OFFICE.

Saladin Jones

There have been statements made by people who know the law that there is no Constitutional right to citizenship to a person born to an illegal alien. This morass was created by a misinterpretation by a judge and has been pandered to ever since.
Let us make an effort to get the word to Barack Hussein Obama and John McCain.

Myrna

I don't think this bill will be successful. It flies directly in the face of the 14th Amendment and the bill will be ruled unconstitutional. You must go through the process of an amendment and redefine the 14th Amendment. I will be a long and hard process, but it worked for prohibition and the removel thereof. Good luck.
