This bill needs to be passed. For too long Medicare has refused to pay for mobility products (wheelchairs, Etc.) more suitable for the handicapped to use for going to work, the store, church, the library, the gym or other out of the house activities. If the product is not necessary for a handicapped person to stay locked in the house Medicare will not usually provide it. Why spend countless dollars building handicapped parking spaces everywhere and then not provide the handicapped with ultralight weight folding wheelchairs that easily transfer in and out of a car? The handicapped parking spots will not get much use by the truly handicapped unless they are provided with mobility suitable for use outside the home. Medicare has been doing a great disservice to us all by not providing to those who need them, mobility devices suitable to getting a job outside of the home or living independent of a caregiver.
