How about amending this bill to state that persons eligible under the proposed legislation be granted compensation based on the average U.S. annual salary for the education level held by the eligible beneficiary? Disability compensation is designed to offset the difference in earning potential between the beneficiary's income and the annual salary they should expect to make. Having graduate education myself, I don't feel compensation based on the average income of U.S. High School graduates is fair in all cases. If our elected officials believe this to be fair compensation, why don't they amend the bill to make their own salaries equal to that which they feel I deserve?

I am a single father, 100% service connected and do believe that this amount of pay is a more fair way to BEGIN payments, allowing additional payments for dependents, special circumstances such as loss of limbs or organs and other variables that affect veterans in differnt manners. These differences or additional payments should be awarded on a case by case basis unless artificial limbs that work effectively are provided and maintained by the VA. In my case I get a K award for loss of my larnyx in addition to my other base pay. We fought, lost abilities face special circumstances and desrve to be compensated at least the minimum of a high school graduate.
