Parental rights are already implied through the 10th Amendment. The wording of this amendment, "governmental interest as applied to the person", leaves the door wide open to the government taking children for pretty much any reason. It doesn't matter how strong the wording is either. If the government can completely disregard our other rights they'll have no second thoughts about twisting our rights to their advantage.

I misspoke in my previous comment. They wouldn't be taking children away from the parents, but taking control of the children's lives when they find it appropriate.

They've already begun taking parent's and children's right's away giving DCYF the power to whatever please now. No-one is safe from this rogue government agency. The government need's to take a good luck at what their doing to the citizen's who voted them into office. Our Freedom is dwindling just as Constitutional Rights are being taken from us.

The Government already assumes that any right, not SPECIFICALLY GUARANTEED by the Constitution, is not an individual right at all... With that in mind, it also makes sense to affirm parental rights. As it stands, my children, and your children ALL belong to the "village," and "Big Brother" can, and does assume all rights to our children are "his" to take, and gives local governments much financial motive to destroy families...

In California , prior to any hearing, if you are accused and your child is taken you will be listed in a DOJ Database known as the CACI index which lists child abusers. This is a direct violation of your constitutional rights. I have never been charged with a crime. Just being loud and obnoxious. GUILTY AS CHARGED! I love my daughter and have crawled over hell on my knees on broken glass for the kid, and she knows I love her. It doesnt change the fact that I havent been allowed to see her since May 12th, the day she was taken. Each part of the legally required court mandated protections were ignored. No phone calls, no supervised visits, no updates on her health. I will not even get a jurisdictional hearing until end o august. The facts are on our side, but we have been demolished. Our home is going for sale, to pay for the legal fees. However, after blowing through ten grand, we had to let go the lawyer. 10th amendment ??? Good luck with that pal, Wrap yourself up in that belief!

"Don't pay attention to the man behind the curtain". Anything congress does is just smoke and mirrors to keep you believing that someone is going to do something to fix the situation. That way you can feel comfortable going back to reading your news paper.

After all, that's why you pay them this huge salary and retirement package. Which by the way, they get to set for themselves. Try that at your job!

The only thing that does work is people standing together and demanding that everyone's existing constitutional rights are protected.

I blame air-conditioning for the loss of human rights in our country. We're so comfortable in our own homes that we won't come out and make enough of an emotional connection with our neighbors to care about what happens to them.

It only counts when it happens to us and we're all left just as alienated and alone to face it as they were.

Changing laws won't help until we change our attitude. Get involved then it will happen.

This Bill doesn't do enough to address concerns of non-custodial parents or survivors of DCF/CPS child snatching - but it is a step in the right direction. As it is now there are huge $$ incentives for corrupt courts to steal children from fit parents, which they may do for any reason they choose to fabricate. Sadly, parents have almost no rights at this time.

I wonder when we are all going to band together to fight this injustice. It is not about fathers rights, it is about justice...what can we do?

It is time to stand up and fight to abolish CPS and give parents back their rights to raise their child.
My child was taken, as well, under false pretenses, and I am fighting to keep myself and my husband out of jail and to get her back so we can un-brainwash her.
