<description>&lt;p&gt;H.R. 6048 would amend the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act to provide for the protection of child custody arrangements for parents who are members of the Armed Forces deployed in support of a contingency operation.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&amp;lt;b&amp;gt;(This measure has not been amended since it was introduced. The summary of that version is repeated here.)&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Amends the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act to provide for the protection of child custody arrangements for parents who are members deployed in support of a contingency operation. States that if a motion for change of custody of a child of such a member is filed while the member is so deployed, no court may enter an order modifying or amending a previous child custody judgment, except if there is clear and convincing evidence that it is in the best interest of the child. Prohibits any court from considering a member's absence due to deployment, or possible deployment, in support of a contingency operation in determining the best interest of the child.&lt;/p&gt;
