Robert Clark
This bill is critical to retaining and maintaining an historic treasure. No different from an historic building, a single site, a natural wonder, the overland trails are a significant artifact of our national experience. This needs to pass.
Lethene Parks
I second what Robert Clark says. this is a study bill--non controversial, no big expenditure of funds, but extremely important to preservation efforts.
Dave Welch
The original congressional designation of emigrant trails as national historic trails designated only what was deemed at the time to be the primary route. The proposed studies will look at many alternate routes that were used by the emigrants. Routes changed year-by-year over the period from 1841 to 1869. An assessment of the condition and relevance of these routes is needsd. Support for the legislation is encouraged.
Camille Bradford
Vitally important legislation, passage of which is essential for preservation of our national heritage.
William Leppert
This Bill is needed to help preserve our American experience in the settling of the West.
Jerry Blanz
Dave Welch's comment is particularly relevant. Any time spent in the field shows how rapidly our heritage resources are being lost unless they receive suitable notice and attention.
Duane Iles
The original bill was a very great contribution to preserving our heritage, this will tell more of the story of the great movement west and preserve it for our heirs.
Please give this your support.
James Bradley
Who are we as a Nation? These routes tell part of the story. They are national treasures and, as such, should be found, marked, and preserved to help future generations to know the trials and tribulations that our ancestors took part in to settle this great nation. Please give your support to this bill.
Glenn Harrison
This a very importand bill that deserves passage. This country's western migration trails deserve study and respect. Think of all those Americans who used these routes on their journey west.
Marley Shurtleff
The western migration trails are a remarkable heritage for the people of these United States. Please support the feasibility and suitability studies for the four trails.
Randall A. Wagner
The western historic trails did not exist as a single track to a single destination. Rather, they were an interwoven network of trails from multiple "jumping-off" places to countless destinations, following an endless variety of shortcuts and cutoffs in between. The wonderful history of the western migration can only be properly told when this complex system of trails in presented and understood.
Lee Underbrink
Oil and Gas Development near the trails make this a necessity.
Patricia Fletcher
This network of emigrant trails across the western half of our country needs eligibility for study. The speed of energy development needs to be matched by the speed of trails research and inclusion.
