we are a small horse farm in the MidWest and the shut down of the slaughter plants has completely killed our horse business!Even tho'we killed very few for slaughter, you never know when a horse will be hurt or cut up beyond saving...plus the rendering truck charges $350 to come pick up a dead horse. Dog food is better than no food or no $'s. The slaughter market affects what we base our quarter horses and game horses we sell. our customers are nill, we went broke in the dairy business interest rates were 18%, now possibly facing it again. please open up the plants, there are so many inbred and cull horses, and broncs that never will have a brain and will, kill-hurt or mame someone. thanks Mark Dailey Dailey Horse Company
