With China's national assets and foreign exchange reserves standing at an all time high and growing continuously, it is indeed strange that for such a proud nation and people that their status in the financial markets and the world generally should be tarnished by its continued refusal to clean up this long outstanding defaulted debt. Clearly the nation has benefited from provision of the money and would now be better served by a clean and honourable settlement.

It's about time that China be held responsible for it's debt to the American people. Why should a county whose future we helped procure be allowed to default on it's re-payment of these bonds. The following bill needs everyones support. As a family member of bondholders we have experienced first hand, China not paying their obligations to the U.S. Citizens as owed. Our Senate and Congress need to make a stand and stop allowing this country to continue to buy and trade with the U.S. and own more of the U.S. then the American people do, yet allow them to be in default of their obligations without consequence. The last time I looked, its called the United States Senate, not the Chinese Communist Senate. US Senators work for and are accountable for their decisions to the citizens of the United States. If they (US Senators) do not vote in favor of this Resolution, then they have shown their true color and most likely have forgoten/discarded the oath of office they took. Its time for China to be weened off of US government protection and own up to the fact they owe money period, no if's and's or but's about it.

I just stumbled onto this and can’t believe this is even being discussed. The fact that so many people are concerned their Senators might not sign this is just heartbreaking. Signing a bill like this aught to be a foregone conclusion, and I can’t imagine for the life of me what would possess any public servant not to. China is a growing super power and a prosperous nation and its no secret much of that prosperity has come thanks to the American people and at great costs to American manufacturing. I understand forgiving debt to impoverished, crumbling countries, but not to a superpower whose aim it is to supplant American greatness. We the People, ( remember us? ) ask our government (Senators and soon, the House of Representatives) to take action and support this resolution. China must be taught a tough lesson on how the free world conducts business and SHAME on our rating agencies. They must be made to disclose the truth about the China's defaulted debt to all prospective investors. Supporting this resolution is a critical first step.

Just as with any other solvent yet evasive debtor enforcement action should be taken against China to secure payment. The first step is obviously to officially recognize the default status of that issuer who has not settled claims worth hundreds of billions of dollars held by US citizens to whom the Senate is accountable. Official punitive action must be taken against the rating agencies who have been reaping billions of dollars in fees from the Chinese government in exchange for hiding the truth of the Chinese default from investors worldwide by atrributing it "investment grade" ratings. Exactly the same can be said about the ratings attributed to the RUSSIAN FEDERATION who is in default on hundreds of billions of euros to French holders of defaulted Russian bonds, please visit:

Thank you Senator Inhofe for introducing this resolution. We the People, ( remember us? ) ask our government (Senators and soon, the House of Representatives) to take action and support this resolution. China must be taught a tough lesson on how the free world conducts business and SHAME on our rating agencies. I'm surprised that Congress really wants to go here with China - they currently own an obscene percentage of America - I guess it might be a leverage thing, but trying to play nasty with them could end up costing us big time if they call in OUR bonds......hopefully they'll tread carefully on this matter.

It is unbelievable that United States taxpayers pay China $40 billion each year in interest payments on U.S. government bonds held by China, yet China refuses to repay its government bonds held by Americans.....and the U.S. Executive Branch grants China an exemption from international law in order to protect Wall Street bonuses. This is treason.
