As I stated before with HR 2243, the GAO did finish a report as to how much the spouses do really get from the VA. It seems we get between 35 and 55% of the spouses pay. I don't know how they arived at this figure. However, it may be why we have not seen action on either bill. What is fair is fair. If the surviving spouse of any Federal employee receives 55% why does the surviving spouse of a military/Veteran receive between 42% and 43%? The spouse of a Veteran receives DIC income from the VA. Our income is also at a Federal level.
