Primates can make exceptional companions when raised properly in captivity. When taking one into your home they become a part of your family, passing this bill will only hinder the responsible owners from taking care of them to the best of their abilities (such as needing to leave the state to go see your vet). Primates are no different then cats and dogs, they do give you even a higher level of companionship though, and stay around much longer. I personally own four primates, three Tamarins, and a Capuchin. My monkeys are in NO way dangerous, and do NOT carry diseases. Whoever thought that up is very wrong, as there has never been a disease transmission from a pet primate to their owner EVER! Although primates are a big responsibility and committment, many are willing to sacrifice their time with their beloved primate. Do not pass this bill, for it will be taking our rights away and will limit us from properly caring for our primates.
