Well they are going to do it again. They introduce a Bill(s) H 1661, S 1357, and then let it sit there and doing nothing about it. The way congress works is that they dont work. Mr Davis got help from Park and he did nothing. Park wasted there money as we did ours with the people we hired. I need to face it nobody cares about what happens to us until another cop(s) get killed and the OMG, we did know that they needed help. Spend Billions on AIG, Chevy and whoever but nothing on the people who protected the Man and his family. I need to go get my welfare and food stamps before I forget them and go hungry for Christmas. Hot peanuts sandwichs and warm water, Mm Mm good...

The Uniformed Division and Park Police retirees have had their retirement benefits reduced after having been in place since 1930's with the passage of legisltion in 2000. Our annuities have been reduced since 2001 and we have tried unsuccessfully to have this wrong reversed for the last 7 years. Our benefits should not have been reduced, since we made many sacrifices to fulfill our protective responsibilities to the President, Vice President, and Foreign Dignitaries. Please pass this legislation to restore our retirement benefits enacted in the 1930's. Thank-you for your consideration....

Please pass this bill and restore benefits that were promised to these faithful federal police officers and then denied them. The only way these retirees receive an adjustment in their pensions is when their active duty counterparts receive an increase in salary. (Unlike all other federal retirees, they DO NOT get automatic yearly increases based on the cost of living.) In 2001, active members were transferred to a new pay chart, which included an increase in salary. For the first time ever, a section of the law that granted a raise to active members EXCLUDED retirees from recieving an increase in their pensions. This should never have been allowed to happen and should be corrected immediatly and retroactivly...

This bill will restore a benefit that retired members of the US Secret Service Uniformed Division and the US Park Police were denied in July 2001. They have been trying to get this benefit restored ever since. The only way these retirees receive an adjustment in their pensions is when their active counterparts receive an increase in salary. These police officers rendered good and faithful service in the protection of their country, with the expectation that the government would live up to its obligations when they retired. It is time for Congress to give these retirees what they have rightly earned....

This bill will restore a benefit that retired members of the US Secret Service Uniformed Division, such as myself, and US Park Police were denied in July 2001. We have been trying to get this promised benefit restored since that time. As police officers we rendered good and faithful service in the protection of our country, with the expectation that the government would live up to its obligations when we retired. For many of us our annuity is our only source of income. It is time for Congress to give us what we have rightly earned....

The passage of this bill will fix the wrong that has been done to us for several years. I was a member of the USSS/UD for 24 years and all those years I was told I would be entitled when I retired to all the same pay raises that the active members got. We deserve what we worked hard for and the dedication we gave to the USSS/UD. We need this bill passed ASAP....

In all fareness this bill will restore a benefit that retired members of the U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division and U.S. Park Police were denied in July 2001. They have been trying to get this benefit for the past seven years. The only way these retirees receive an adjustment in their pensions is when their active counterparts receive an increase in salary. There are only 973 annuniants that this affects and the number will only decrease as the mortality rate increases. Please do what is fare and just and act positively on this bill. Thank you for your consideration....

I served 9 years in the US Army and 20 years with the DC Police/ US Secret Service Uniform Division. My honorable service during those times were hard on my family and required sacrifice.
When I retired the funds/increases were promise by law(Fed/DC law at that time) but it changed in July 2001,by Congress, for no obvious reason. For the last 7 years my retirement orginazation, along with a small number of repersenatives have attempted to get the law changed to assist the small number of us left, so we could enjoy the fruits of our labor.
This note is a hope to finally get our promise back. Request you support and get other support for S-1357 and HR-1661
Thank You for your service...

I spent 20 years with the US Secret Service Uniformed Division, all that time we were told once we retired our retirement would be based on current employees pay. That all changed in 2001 when we were excluded from raise at the request of the Secret Service. This bill will correct this and restore what the government promised for 20 years....

I and a great many other law enforcement personnel, retired from the US Secret Service Uniformed Division and the US Park Police, are being adversely affected by Congress' failure to act and pass this bill for the last 7 years. Legislation to provide pay raises to our active duty officers in 2001 was passed, however retirees were for the first time excluded. This legislation will correct this inequality and restore these raises to this group of retired police officers. The passage of this bill is very important and must be addressed by the Congress immediatley....

I couldn't agree more with Todd! This omission was an affront to all the retirees that have paid their dues in service to the organization and our country. As stated by Todd in his missive, we were promised by law to receive what benefits the active personnel received. I truely believe that we should be awarded these monies back the the date of the raise in 2000 and then monthly thereafter. It would only be the fair thing to do....

For over 10 yrs we went without a across the board par raise and got half of the cost of living, thanks to the people we protected and served. We were promised by law in our retirement that we would recieve whatever the active people got and then our parent organization back doored us. Congress has been playing with this for over 6 yrs and done nothing to get it passed. Time for some new people I think. They spend billions on ear marks and nobody says a word. Time for a big change....

This Bill is an outright renege on the part of Congress, who gave their WORD upon the conception of the present retirements Bill, that future Acts would include retirees in equalization of Pay grades, as condition of employement. This has not been addressed over the last years and retirees are fast fading to keep pace with cost of living, being for one reason or another unable to gain alternative employment.
Failure to do them consideration along these lines is a gross transgression to their loyalty and performance of duty, they being the prime security for government and political officials....
