I've never liked incandescent light bulbs and welcomed the relatively new screw-in fluorescent replacements -- especially the daylight type that eliminate that obnoxious yellow hue. But there's major problem with those new bulbs: Though they're promoted as lasting thousands of hours, I have yet to buy one that lasted more than a month -- and I've tried at least a dozen of them of various brands. Memo to government: Fix the bulbs before you start passing stupid laws outlawing lights that definitely work and making overpriced lights that definitely don't work the only ones available.
